Hi, guys! Lately, I've been very busy with writing on my Blog and also keeping up with my tasks at college, because it's a jungle out there (See what I did there???). I promise to you that I'm going to try to not make 'Monk' jokes while writing this post (At least I'll try!). The reason I decided to write this post is because I want to share with you a very important part of my life (childhood and presence). When I was in primary school I started watching a TV show called 'Monk' and now, after around 7 years since that happened I still watch this show almost every single day even tho I already know all episodes (I don't want to brag, but I can identify an episode just by watching first 3 seconds of it). This TV show, in a way, saved my life and made me understand and appreciate my values more (I can talk about that in another post). Even tho I like all episodes of this show, I made my Top 10 episodes list and it was definitely hard to write this and I'll probably make part 2 of this post and write to you another 10 episodes of 'Monk' you should definitely watch, but here are my first 10 picks. So, if you are bored and you don't know what to do, I promise you that these 10 episodes will definitely entertain you with a classic comedy style, mind-blowing mysteries and the most interesting characters ever made! 10. Mr. Monk and the big reward ( Season 4, Episode 13 )
I decided to pick this episode as one of my Top 10 because not only this episode includes an incredible case and shows the struggles Mr.Monk has to face every day, but it also delivers something that's not often seen in other 'Monk' episodes- an adventure! Monk and Natalie are trying to find a missing diamond while following the clues and untangling the mystery step by step, they're also being followed by other detectives (shown in a very classical way) which makes their job much harder! This episode is definitely a must! 9. Mr. Monk and the game show ( Season 3, Episode 8 ) This very episode is actually one of my favorite! What I really like about this show is just the fact that Monk doesn't always solve typical murder cases- his cases sometimes involve a billionaire mugger, an astronaut that was in space at the time he murdered someone or a guy who's cheating on a game show and the whole fraud is connected to a recent murder! I like the fact that putting the bad guy(s) in jail means Monk has to figure out how is a guy cheating on a game show and he can only do that by becoming a competitor! (And I also love Kevin Dorfman endlessly and his appearance in this episode was everything!) 8. Mr. Monk and the Daredevil ( Season 6, Episode 7 ) It seems like there is only one thing keeping Mr. Monk alive- knowing that at least Harold Krenshaw is worse than him, but even that fact goes away when he finds out that Harold is a secret superhero of San Francisco!- And let me ask you a question, what is better than having a superhero in this TV show??? I'll give you some time to think about it, but as you do, please, do yourself a favor a watch this episode! 7. Mr. Monk takes a vacation ( Season 1, Episode 10 ) I have to admit that to this very day, this is the only episode of 'Monk' that made me feel scared of what is happening next! This episode starts with Monk going to a vacation he didn't want to go to, but he ends up discovering about a murder that happened in a hotel he's staying, but he can't seem to find the body or any evidence of the fact that a murder happened! One of the most entertaining episode of the show! 6. Mr. Monk is someone else ( Season 8, Episode 4 ) It's an usual thing that after doing a show for 8 seasons, writers just can't think of anything new and original- but not with this show (!) and this episode just proves it!!! This story follows a story of a hit man who just got a new 'job' and is preparing for it, but his plans don't work that well when a bus hits him and he dies... So, what is so interesting about this story?- The guy looks exactly like Monk!!! FBI steps in and asks Monk to pretend to be a hit man for a special case and the rest... Well, you have to watch the episode to see what happens! 5. Mr Monk and his biggest fan ( Season 6, Episode 1 ) Sarah Silverman's in this episode! SARAH SILVERMAN!!! And she plays Monk's biggest fan!!! I don't think that this episode needs any more introduction. I am just really blown away by the fact that this not just another crime show that doesn't really put much effort into the characters and are not connecting the story from episode to episode and to the characters. The fact that this show exists with this characters and stories, I feel like it's just a blessing to us! 4. Mr. Monk is on the run ( Part 1 ) ( Season 6, Episode 16 ) If it was up to me to pick a highlight from this episode I wouldn't be able to do that, because so much effort is put into making this episode and there are so many details and probably the cleverest 'here's what happened', but Randy's song dedicated to Monk is probably why this episode is one of the best episode ever made! (I hate to say it, but sometimes I wish the last episode was mixed with this one, it would all just be a lot funnier and more interesting) 3. Mr. Monk's 100th case ( Season 7, Episode 7 ) There is a serial killer on the streets of San Francisco, but that is not the only reason why this case is so important to Monk- this is also his 100th case! The whole investigation process is being followed by a TV crew who are shooting an episode of their show about Monk and his career. But as the case involves it seems like there is more to it and is it possible that there are more killers involved in this case? In this episode we also see some criminals Monk's put in jail in the past cases, and there are also cameos made by Sarah Silverman as his biggest fan and Shalhoub's wife, Brooke Adams. (Note: This is also 100th episode of the show!) 2. Mr. Monk and the Airplane ( Season 1, Episode 13 ) This episode is actually one of my favorite for many reasons. With this episode, I really felt like all the actors that were working so hard on bringing the show to life and all the crew members became a family with this single episode. This episode included some very important cameos made by Tony Shalhoub's Wings co-star Tim Daly (there's a scene where Sharona sees Tim and tells Monk that he was in a show called 'Wings' and Monk tells her he's never heard of it), but maybe even more importantly, a special cameo was made by Tony Shalhoub's wife, Brooke Adams. This was Brooke's first appearance on the show, as she later appeared every time as a different character! Another cameo that this episode served was by Mr. Garry Marshall (who was one of the funniest movie director in the world- he directed movies like 'Valtentine's Day' and 'New Year's Eve'). I also like this episode, because even tho the episode feels like it was made by a real family, this episode reminds me so much of my family because I'll never forget the time I watched it with my mom and my sister and we laughed so much! (And also Garry's character reminded us of my father!) 1. Mr. Monk and the kid ( Season 3, Episode 16) My final pick for today's list is the final episode of the 3rd season and the reason it's at my no. 1 spot is because this episode absolutely left me heartbroken! The mystery, the comedy and Brooke Adams (again) did their part, but the connection between Monk and the kid and the heartbreking ending that this episode contains gets me every time and I always end up in tears! To me, this episode conataines everything a great episode of an even greater TV show should contain! This is all I have for you today. I hope you enjoy this post and you decide to watch this show. If you do, please let me know what you think about it! In the mean time please, stay safe, work on your dreams and be kid to everyone!!! ♡
