Taylor Swift's 6th studio album 'reputation' came out over one year ago, but the moment it got out I started searching for clues and I created 2 theories back then. Since I didn't have a Blog and wasn't active on social media, I kept those two theories to myself, but since I have a Blog now and am in the middle of my #NotayceMeow project I thought it could be fun to share those theories with you :) I'm not saying that those theories have to mean anything, I just had a lot of fun creating them. Today I'll share with you only one theory, called 'the az theory' and the other one I'll share with you some other time! What is the az theory? So, the whole point of this theory is to connect the first and the last word of each song. I thought that maybe there could be secret clues/secret meanings behind each song. I had to break the rules for some songs and sometimes connect the first and the last line. Again, I had a lot of fun doing this and I found very interesting with what I came up with! ...Ready for it? With track 1 from 'reputation' the first and last word connected give line "knew it". Now, this isn't much, but I fount this very interesting. '...Ready for it?' is a very interesting song to put as the first track thinking about how the whole album explains how Taylor's reputation's being destroyed and her being insecure- but in this song she explains how all along, from the first moment she knew that this relationship's gonna work out, like there is no question about it. So these two words kinda make perfect sense- all along she knew everything's gonna work out- she KNEW IT! End GameThe second song is titled 'End Game' and the first and last word give " I game" which also doesn't make much sense. It could mean that Taylor is this just a very complicated person as well as her life and everything around her, but this is the last time she's letting someone play it (?). Also, the first and last line of this song is "I wanna be your end game", so maybe that is the whole point of this song. I did something badTrack 3 has actually very interesting first and last words connected together and those are "I good". I found this interesting considering that the song is called 'I did something bad'. I feel like those two words are parallel to the line "THEY SAY I did something bad". The whole song is about what others think about her and not who she really is. She explained every rumor in that song, but the hidden message is that she's actually a good person and not that bad as they paint her to be. Don't blame meConnecting the first and last word from 'Don't blame me' got "Don't life" which doesn't make sense at all, but I decided to connect the first and last line just to see what will happen, and this is what I got "Don't blame me for the rest of my life" which makes so much more sense. In the songs, she does sing about why do you blame her now? But looking at the whole 'reputation' album and the message behind it, maybe the real meaning behind this song is what if she made mistakes and lived her life by the way she wanted to, why do you have to blame her and remind her of that for the rest of her life? DelicateSo, track 5 'Delicate' might be one of the most interesting to me. When I look at it, it's a bit similar to '...Ready for it?', but still different. It's a song about the current situation Taylor's in and for the most time Taylor's asking weather the situation she's in is delicate with lines like: "...I know it's delicate. Isn't it?" I have a feeling Taylor wrote this song after a while and was reminiscing at the beginning of her relationship and being really insecure, but when she looks at it now, like she's time-traveling and giving her old self a motivation to keep going on, because connection the first and last line of 'Delicate' I got this: "This ain't delicate". Look what you made me do'Look what you made me do' came out as the first single from the album and absolutely scared me when I first heard it, but I'm not gonna talk about that now... When you connect the first and last word from this song it says: "I do" which doesn't make a look of sense to me, but I was thinking about this a bit longer than I probably should've and I got actually a pretty interesting theory. This song is about Kimye (and we all know it) and about them tricking her by using her words against her even tho she didn't agree for Kanye to call her a b***h. But let's go back a little bit- how did they trick her?- By using her own words agains her. And what were those words?- Her approval and how do you approve something?- By saying 'I do' BUM!!! If this wasn't done by purpose I don't know what is.... So it goes...'So it goes...' is the next song and if you noticed that the first track stars with '...' and this one ends that way which made some people believe that this is her 'reputation side' and that every songs after this one are Taylor finally being freed from her reputation, that's why connecting beginning and the ending of this song make so much sense because it then says "See it goes" which could mean that she's actually seeing her reputation leaving her and now she can finally breath! GorgeousTrack 8 and the first track after the death of her reputation is 'Gorgeous' and it's placed so well, because now she finally sees what she wants to see and not what other people want her to see and she sees something so simple and beautiful- so gorgeous! The first and last word of this song are: "You gorgeous" which in my opinion is connected to 'I did something bad' where the first and last words are 'I good'. These two songs are actually like profiles of two people who connect together so well, she's good and he's gorgeous. Getaway car'Getaway car' has actually a very simple meaning and that is the line that's being said at the beginning and ending of the song: "No, nothing good starts in the a getaway car". That is the whole point and meaning of this song. If I really connected the first and last word of this song it would say "No car" which could mean that since nothing good starts in a getaway car maybe she's looking for a guy who has no car at all so there's no way that relationship could go wrong? But................ I don't think that's it. I don't even know why I wrote that... Or why I just don't delete it...... (I've been doing this for so looooooooonnnggggg) King of my heartNow with this song I had to connect the first and last line of the song which lead up to: "I'm perfectly fine, all at once" meaning that she's finally alright and she knows that this is what she's been looking for and why she had to go to hell and back. This could also be a little eastern egg from 'All too well' saying "I might be okay, but I'm not fine at all" and now saying "I'm perfectly fine" just made me cry a little! Dancing with our hands tiedWhen I connected the first and last line of this song I got "I loved dancing" which I don't know what quiet means. Maybe it could mean that if you learn how to dance with someone even when you're angry or sad or having your hands tied, you can count on that person forever. DressConnecting the first and last word from this song says "Our (secret) tattoo" which I absolutely don't know what means.... Does this means that Taylor and Joe have secret matching tattoos only they know about because they're placed on........... I'm not even gonna try to explain this theory! Maybe that's why he's the one who's taking her dress off.... STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT!!! This is all, I'm not gonna continue.... This is why we can't have nice thingsThe first and last words of this song are "It things" which doesn't make much sense (like most previous songs didn't), but what if this song isn't about someone but something. It's about the place and time where this song takes place. The whole meaning behind this song could be 'it was nice being there, you messed things up and now not only you, but both of us could never go back there'. Call it what you wantWhen I saw the first and last word of this song, I got tears in my eyes because connected they say: "My call". Now this could be a bit confusing but let's go back a little bit. The whole album was created after Taylor's reputation's been destroyed and everyone started calling her a snake because of that Kimye call. But she's been through so much and now when she's standing here with all of these lessons she learned the hard way and when it's now about her what to do, she chooses love! With one call you can destroy someone and make them fall, but that's not her call. She doesn't look back with anger. HER CALL is something else it's life lived well and appreciating the loved ones and letting them know that. New Year's DayThe first and last word of this song are "There's anywhere" meaning that it doesn't matter where you are, it's not about the material things, it's about who you're with and when you're with the right person that's the only thing you need. The whole song is about celebration and maybe you can look at each day/night as the right time to celebrate that you're with the ones who you love. Guys, this is it. I explained all 15 songs from the album. I hope you had fun reading this theory and enjoyed it. I wrote it as a part of my #NotayceMeow project. Please read that post and share my story on social media as well as this post so my dream of meeting Taylor Swift could come true. Thank you for reading, I'll write to you soon.In the mean time, please stay safe, work on your dreams and be kind to everyone always! ♡
