When I found out that there's gonna be a Kim Possible live-action movie a couple months ago I was more than excited. Kim Possible was one of my favorite show growing up and in my opinion this live-action movie should've happened a couple years ago. After the first trailer came out, people didn't start hating everything about this movie, but hatttttiiiiinnnnnggggg it! Everyone started saying that the actors are not even close to the characters and that the movie is about to ruin the Kim Possible legacy. Now, here I had to things to say: first of all never, ever, ever, ever, everrrr judge a movie by the trailer and second and more important, it's a TV MOVIE MADE FOR KIDS AND NOT INTERNET TROLLS THAT HATE ON EVERYTHING THEY SEE!!! My expectations for this movie weren't big. What was really important for me to see was a unique Kim Possible story, something that will remind us of the show we all loved, but in a live-action way. And you won't believe it, the movie was better than I thought it would be! Not for a moment I thought about burning my eyes while watching the movie. That's why I've decided to write you my whole review of the new Kim Possible movie.
Actors Many people had a lot to say about Disney's choice of choosing actors who apparently didn't bring the characters to life. I actually disagree with this. At the beginning, it was honestly just weird to see Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable as real human beings, but their presence became normal pretty quickly. I think that both actors, Sandie and Sean, did a great job playing Kim and Ron. I like it how, not just the two of them, but all the actors made sure that their characters are as similar as they were in the show. I was so happy to see Alyson Hannigan in this movie, because for some reason I didn't know she'll play Kim's mom. My favorite casting choice has to be Todd Stashwick as Dr. Drakken. He really nailed the part and did his scenes flawlessly. On the other hand, my least favorite casting choice has to be Taylor Ortega as Shego. Although, Taylor is a very beautiful woman and there is a scene at the end of the movie where is is not wearing her Shego outfit and she looks incredible there, I feel like the Shego outfit didn't fit her well and it didn't really bring Shego to life the way it should've. I don't think that this is Taylor's fault, she was really good at her scenes, but in that costume and with that make up she just didn't seem like Shego to me. The story Now, when it comes to the story, I have a lot to say. Watching the movie, I wasn't quiet entertained in the way I thought I will be. As I was watching the movie I was just thinking about how I wished there was another case Kim was working on and I though it would be more epic. But after watching the movie and while writing ideas for this post, I realized that this is probably the best story a Kim Possible movie could have at this point! It took me a second to realize that I was watching a Kim Possible movie and not an Avengers movie or Mission: Impossible or Fast & Furious. Just like with the characters, I love the fact that the story stayed true to it's roots. When I think about the show I was watching while growing up, I think that this is exactly how the story used to go! You can notice so many similarities between the struggles Kim has in school, the jokes, but also how to whole film moves, the way they solve their cases, the way they fight the bad guys and what I also like is the way Kim travel to the place where her enemy hides (by asking people she saved before for a ride)- it reminded me so much of the show! I also like that we find out how did Ron find Rufus and why is Wade never at school.......... Special effects There were a lot of special effects in this movie and I have to admit that for a TV movie, it all looked pretty good! Costumes Looking at this movies, I have to admit I liked all costumes and the way everything looked (Except of Shego which I already talked about). At the beginning I noticed that Kim is wearing a bit different costume and couldn't understand why they made such a big change, but later her old costume is shown and she says that she doesn't wear it anymore because it feels a bit 'cartoonic'- this joke I liked a lot, because it's not only an Eastern Egg in the movie, but also, with this, Kim says goodbye to the past, she's held by her legacy that the show did, but this is a new adventure and a new beginning for 'Kim Possible'. I also like to see all the 'weapons' Kim and Ron use in this movie. I like the fact that they didn't change a lot of it, but the "Kimmunicator" being replaced was something I didn't expect because I think that it was one of the most legendary thing about the show. However, I like it how Disney decided to change a couple of things in order to make Kim Possible look like she actually lives today, in a place where everyone's available to the high-technology. In a world like this the 'Kimmunicator' wouldn't look that interesting, so they replaced it with something that would be a part of even a higher technology. The set I was really surprised by how everything looked like. It really felt like every detail from the show was created into the real world. Kim's school, home and even the nacho place all look incredible. So, this is it for my review today. I really wish you all watch this movie and understand that this is a Kim Possible movie made for kids and is not supposed to be a big blockbuster. I think that everyone did a great job and I really hope that there is a Part 2 of this movie coming our way soon! This is it for today. I hope you liked my post. I can't wait to write to you again! In the mean time, please, stay safe, work hard on your dreams and be kind to everyone always ♡ Bye
